Heroin, Painkillers Seized In Jersey Shore Busts

Brick police made several arrests involving drug possession and sales, authorities said.

On Friday, Feb. 11, Brick Street Crimes Unit (SCU) detectives observed suspicious activity in the area of 35 Beaverson Boulevard. Two motor vehicle stops were conducted relating to the activity observed.

The first vehicle was occupied by Vincent Infante, 30, of Seaside Heights. Infante was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and wandering in a public place to obtain a controlled dangerous substance, police said. Infante was processed and released on a summons. 

The second vehicle was occupied by Horace Bland, 31, of Toms River. Bland was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. The driver, Darion Showers was charged with conspiracy to possess heroin with the intent to distribute, conspiracy to possess heroin, wandering in a public place to obtain a controlled dangerous substance and driving a motor vehicle with a suspended license, police said. 

Bland and Showers were both processed and were being held in Ocean County Jail.

On Jan. 27, Brick SCU was conducting a drug investigation in assistance with the Ocean County Prosecutors Office Narcotics Strike Force (OCNSF), OCPO Major Crimes Unit, and the Brick Township Patrol Division. Officers stopped a motor vehicle on Cedar Bridge Avenue near Mantoloking Road. During the investigation the driver, Melissa Medvitz, 25, of Toms River, was arrested and charged with, possession of Oxycodone and Xanax, distribution of Xanax and Oxycodone and possession of CDS paraphernalia, police said. The passenger, Myron Robinson, 26, of Eatontown was charged with conspiracy to possess and distribute drugs, police said.

Medvitz and Robinson were both processed and released on a summons.
